I am so excited that Ashely and Elijah’s newborn baby girl is featured over at Lemonade and Lenses today!
Over a month ago I took maternity photographs for a couple who have since become friends of ours. This was their first child and they did not want to find out the sex of their baby. On July 29 they welcomed 5.6 pound newborn baby girl into their family. The first thought that went through their minds? “It’s a Girl!!!” They named her Ayla Elizabeth. When I asked Ashley how they chose her name, she told me that they chose “A” for the first name to represent Ashley and “E” for the middle name to represent Elijah. I love how they have meaning in so many little details.
When I asked Ashley what the best part of being a new parent is, she said that “she loves the sweet smiles Ayla gives her and Elijah once in a while. They make getting up in the middle of the night worth it.”
Ayla was 10 days new for our session. S was so small and slept so well during the first half of our session. After that, she woke up but I do love seeing her little eyes and capturing her natural movements. Ashely had found this beautiful carriage, and when I saw their backyard I knew that was going to be a perfect spot to photograph Ayla. And it we even got a little smile out of Ayla in the carriage. I am so in love with this session!
It had rained for several days in Green Bay before our session and it looked like we were going to get rained out. Luckily, we stayed dry (although the mosquitoes were pretty bad). But the mosquitoes didn’t stop us from having fun; we never stopped talking and laughing throughout the entire session!
Ashley and Elijah have been married for two years and are due to have their first baby in August. Ashley was 33 weeks at the time of her maternity session and she is simply stunning! Since they wanted to keep the the sex of their baby a surprise, Ashley wore a blue dress and a pink necklace. I loved that the colors were meaningful to them.
Ashley said Elijah has been waiting to run to the store to get her something she’s craving but he hasn’t had to do that yet. She craves sweets but she always does, pregnant or not (me too Ashley!).
I love asking my clients if they have any tips for people who are preparing for a session and Ashley’s advice is to “Relax, have fun, and let Ana do the rest…you’ll end up with beautiful pictures!”
I loved getting to know both of you and I am excited to meet the new addition to your beautiful family! Congratulations to you both!
And I had to share these outtakes. It pretty much sums up our entire session, which was filled with laughter.
