Alyssa | Sturgeon Bay Senior Photographer

October 8, 2014 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

Alyssa is a senior at Sturgeon Bay High School.  Her session took place at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. I love Crossroads; it’s a beautiful location year round and gives so much variety.  It was pretty cold the day of the session so we moved fast so Alyssa did not freeze (or get too many bites).  You cannot even tell she was freezing. Alyssa is so sweet and I loved photographing her.

Alyssa’s review of our session was: “You’re really fun to have take pictures and you make it all feel natural!” This makes me so happy to hear because that is what I strive for. I don’t ever want anyone to leave a session feeling awkward and uncomfortable. I want them to be themselves and have fun!

Mariah | Sturgeon Bay Senior Photographer

September 24, 2014 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

This senior session was a little different than my regular sessions because Mariah wanted some photos with Tater, her horse. I had never taken photos with a horse before but I’m always up for something new (plus, I love creating session that are meaningful to each senior). The session took place on her family’s property in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Also since Rachel, her step-sister, is also a senior we combined both their senior sessions. However, I think they deserve their own posts, so check back next week to see Rachel’s senior pictures!

I had a blast working with Mariah. And she has the most amazing blue eyes. I also love that I was able to capture a few photos of her interacting with Tater, because those are always my favorite photographs. Her outfits were also perfect for senior pictures because they are classic and do not take attention away from her face.

Haley | Door County Senior Photographer

September 10, 2014 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

Meet Haley Everyone! She is my very first Senior Rep (if your interested in becoming a senior rep contact me for info–it’s open to juniors and seniors).

Haley is a senior at Southern Door High School in Door County, Wisconsin. She is so much fun to work with and she is so sweet. She is currently raising Quails so you’ll see those in the post too. I had never seen one before but their colors are beautiful and they are so tiny you can’t help but to love them! Haley is involved in many activities some of which include gymnastics, 4-H, National Honor Society, Youth Group and many more!  She is such an amazing person, I could have stayed and talked with her for hours after our session.

Haley’s advice to other seniors preparing for their session is to “get plenty of rest. And dye your hair in advance so you won’t have to rub tea bags on it.” I loved this advice. The backstory is that she had dyed her hair but it turned too blonde so to try to darken it she rubbed tea bags on it. I love that you cannot help but laugh when you’re around her.

All Love | Sturgeon Bay Family Photographer

October 31, 2013 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

I was honored when I was contact to take this beautiful family’s portraits in Sturgeon Bay. They have been through so much in the past year and this was such a great way to honor Dad.  As many on my Facebook page have said of their photos, you can just feel the love. They are so right. You cannot meet people who are kinder than they are. We had fun during our session too, even with the cold and the wind. Sturgeon Bay is a small town so I’ve “known” them for a while but I really enjoyed spending more time getting to know them a little more. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, (cheesy, I know, but I do not know how else to describe it) and I think many of these images tell their story in a way that I cannot accomplish with only words. I will stop rambling now, and let you see what I mean for yourselves.
