By the Water | Door County Family Photographer

May 3, 2016 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

The Dumke Family contacted me because they were going to be in Door County and wanted photographs for their Christmas cards. I am so happy they found me because they were so much fun to photograph (scroll to the second to last image and you will see what I mean). And the children are absolutely adorable! Extended family sessions are so important, as these images will truly be treasured for years to come.

The session took place at Bayshore Inn in Door County, which is where the Dumkes were staying. I love the colorful chairs and, of course, the view of the water is breathtaking!

And It Wasn’t Even Golden Hour | Door County Natural Light Photographer

June 14, 2015 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

Another post from my amazing session with Cassandra! Did you miss the first post with the fun vintage car? Check it out HERE.

This part of our session took place at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Crossroads is such a beautiful outdoor location and it never gets old shooting there. The light at this particular spot was amazing and, as the title suggests, this wasn’t shot at golden hour. In fact, it was early afternoon! And how amazing does her red dress look against the greens?!

My New Brand

May 30, 2015 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

Over the last year you may have noticed that I have been slowly changing my brand. I worked with Meredith C. Bullock who is an amazingly talented designer and business coach who has helped me define and refine my brand. With her help I have come to a deeper understanding of myself as well as what I want to do with my photography. She also helped me develop steps to take to reach my goals. Branding is not only visual but it includes how I run my business and relate to clients.  I wanted my clients to know what to expect while working with me but I didn’t know how to help them understand; so that’s where Meredith came in!

To begin, Meredith sent me a Brand and Vision Guide which asked a lot of questions in order to truly understand what I do and why I doing it. There were also questions about the future and about my short term and long term goals. Once I finished the guide we met on Skype to go over my Brand and Vision Guide. Then she created a Business Vision and Brand Book that compiled my brand and my inspiration and goals in one place. It is amazing to have and refer back to whenever I want to reassess and be sure I am on track and in line with my vision.

After all of that I knew I wanted to work with Meredith to develop a marketing plan. She sent me several worksheets that really and me delve into my target market and what they like. Then we met on Skype to go over the worksheets and she put together a 90 action plan to help me launch my brand and reach my target clients. It was such a wonderful experience working with Meredith.

Here is my visual brand inspiration page:

Next she sent me sketches of many logo designs from which I chose my favorite and she created my final logo (which is now on my site). Together we also created this website which is amazing and clean. It is simple and showcases my work and my brand. Meredith was amazing to work with and she really digs deep with your to get to the bottom of who you are and where you want to be.  I cannot recommend her enough!

Antique Car and a Beautiful Model | Door County Photographer

May 19, 2015 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

This session is going to come in several stages because we shot it in a few locations for different looks. I had the privilege of working with the beautiful and talented model Cassandra again. I met her through Shaunae during my mentor session. We spent the entire afternoon together traveling throughout Door County to make amazing images.

We shot in Door County, Wisconsin and the very kind owners of this beautiful car allowed us to use it for this vintage session. The car was amazing it was a yellow Willis Jeepster. It is such an amazing car!

I had so much fun during this session which was also published in Pinup Alternative Magazine. And I mean, how gorgeous is Cassandra in these?!

Surprise! | Door County Engagement Photographer

November 20, 2014 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

I was so excited when Lance contacted me to see if I was available to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Erin. I knew I would do everything I could to make this session happen because these are one of my favorite types of sessions. I mean, who doesn’t love to witness a proposal? Usually people only have memories about the proposal but Erin And Lance will be able to remember the location. They will remember the weather, the location as it was on that day, and of course the reaction.

I had the perfect location picked out near Bailey’s Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin but because of all the rain that week it was underwater. So, instead we walked around downtown. It looked like we were going to get rained out but we decided to go on with the session. Erin thought Lance had planned this session for her as a birthday gift.

Erin and Lance are such an adorable couple. Add that with gorgeous fall colors and backdrops and it’s a perfect session! Erin is also a photographer and spotted some beautiful yellow flowers and so we stopped and put the ring on it. At the end of the session she wanted to have some photos with the leaves and that was so fun! I had the hardest time narrowing down which images to blog, so it’s a long post but you don’t want to miss it!
