I firmly believe every photo should share a tale of truth, and preserve a fleeting, gorgeous flash of genuine emotion.
So, armed with just my camera and keen stylistic eye, I strive to capture the natural expressions, personalities, and connections of the people in front of my lens.
The tender way a mother cradles her newborn.
The joy of a family laughing with their arms around each other.
The gaze a couple holds that sparks a beam of love between them.
The grin of a high school senior, surrounded by friends and ready for his next adventure.
These precious, fleeting seconds are life’s poetry unfolding – and they’re worth holding onto.
But you don’t need boring studio backdrops, predictable poses, or props to convey real feelings like this.
Just come as you are. I’ll capture the rest.
This is what I do – this is what I love.
And this is my story.
My interest in photography began roughly six years ago.
I had just been diagnosed with several chronic conditions that slowed down my adventure-loving lifestyle. Suddenly, the things I adored doing – spending time with my family, roughhousing with my cousins, hiking, and more – had to be approached in completely new ways.
Frustrating? Absolutely. But soon enough, I discovered a whole new way to de-stress, and participate in the activities I loved again: stepping behind my Nikon D700, and capturing all the fun and feeling of those days, events, and people on film.
The more I practiced, the more hooked I became on this art and the stories it could tell. As a ravenous reader, the narratives a single snapshot brought to life fascinated me, and fueled my creative fire.
I began taking classes online for fun, and teaching myself the finer points of style, shadow, light, and emotion. Before long, friends were asking me to shoot their portraits, events, family photos, and more.
As my portfolio grew, my confidence did too. I came to love directing my subjects into just the right, most flattering positions and pools of light, to create completely unique works of art that form a real depiction of who they deeply are.
So when I opened the doors of Ana Claire Photography, I was ready to bring my keen eye for simple, natural, emotional photographs to the world. And I never looked back.
With a mixture of posed and emotive portraits, I’m here to help you perfectly capture memories that will last forever in frames on your walls, desk, and more.

And, since you read the formal stuff: here are some tiny trivia tidbits!
- I l-o-v-e doing puzzles. Seriously. Set me up on a table in your living room and I’ll be thrilled to bits for hours.
- I could not live without chocolate or caramel!
- Vanilla is my favorite smell in the whole world.
- In my humble opinion, fall is the most beautiful season. The colors take my breath away every year.
- I might have a borderline unhealthy obsession with shoes and scarves. Might.
- I firmly believe in the healing power of watching a sunset.
- I read a ton – so much that I can’t pick a favorite genre!
- I’m always looking at light, textures, and lines. Fortunately, that’s a perfect habit for a passionate photographer. 😉
