Life in Black & White | February

February 4, 2014 by Ana Collins 11 Comments

I recently finished a class called the Art of Observation. This class was truly amazing and helped me to find inspiration in places I wouldn’t have looked before.  This was one of my submissions and was therapeutic for me.  Some of  you may remember this post that I did about sharing my story.  I still struggle with the scars but photography is helping me to accept them and see them as proof of what I’ve been through; what I have overcome.

This is image is so emotive. It shows such strength and beauty, and I love that the processing shows the freckles so well, that somehow makes this seem even more authentic if that’s possible.

Ana, this is such an amazing image. That crop is so powerful and the simplicity and focus on what you typically choose to hide (Erika can do that!). I’m so glad AOO inspired you as much as it did for me and allowed you to create and share an image like this. You are amazing!
