week 5 | low light photography

February 1, 2013 by Ana Collins Leave a Comment

the theme for this week was “low light photography.”  for one of my photography classes we had to take a photo using rembrandt lighting. the distinguishing feature of this type of light is that there is a distinct triangle under the person’s eye. the second photo illustrates the inverse square law, which means that the closer to the light source a person is the darker the background will be. it’s a lot of fun to try out new techniques, so this week was a fun one for me.
